Coronavirus or Covid-19 on Tuesday (October 12) claimed 14 more lives and 543 new infections in the country.
The deaths and infections were recorded in the last 24 hours.
A press release issued by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed this information this afternoon.
Earlier on Monday (October 11), the country witnessed 11 deaths while seven deaths were reported in October 10.
After detecting first case from coronavirus on March 8 last year, the first death was reported after 10 days (March 18), DGHS said. That year (2020), 64 deaths, highest number of fatalities in a day, were registered in the country.
Due to spread of Delta variant in Bangladesh, the number of Covid-19 patients was increasing rapidly from July 28 this year.
