Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said 'Bangabandhu-2', second communication satellite of the country, will be launched within the stipulated time.

"The Posts and Telecommunications Division has started to implement the three promises which made in the election manifesto like launching of Bangabandhu Satellite-2 in space, launching of 5G networks and establishing the connection of the third submarine cable. These will be completed within the stipulated time," he said.

The minister said these while speaking at a discussion organised by Bangladesh Satellite Company Ltd (BSCL) at a city hotel last night to mark the second anniversary of the launch of private satellite TV channels through Bangabandhu Satellite-1, first communication satellite of the country.

"With 'Bangabandhu-I', Bangladesh became the 57th country to launch geostationary communication satellite into the orbit," he said, adding that the government is providing uninterrupted satellite services to the country in the last two years without any flaws.
