The Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan Papon on Saturday claimed that their Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) had crossed Tk 900 crore during his tenure.
“The BCB’s money (savings) has increased a lot. We have earned it all. All of our sponsors are local, not foreign… We now have an FDR worth Tk 900 crore,” Nazmul said during a programme in the capital marking the memory of former BCB Director Afzalur Rahman Sinha.
The Daily Sun has acquired a copy of the document which was presented to the BCB councillors during their last AGM held on August 26 which showed that the BCB fund was Tk 832.68 crore till 2019-20 fiscal year.
The BCB earned TK 332.82 crore while they spent Tk 279.91 crore which meant they saved Tk 52.91 crore till last year.
The BCB had savings worth Tk 147.43 crore in their bank accounts while they got an FDR worth Tk 545 crore during the same time.
Meanwhile, Nazmul also claimed that they will receive the same amount of money as Australia from the International Cricket Council from 2023.
