Sk Jamal, Dhaka Abahani finish on a stalemate

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited failed to capitalize on a two-goal advantage to finish with Dhaka Abahani Limited to a 2-2 draw in their second leg match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. 

Sheikh Jamal took the 2-0 lead before halftime after Gambian forwards Pa Omar Jobe and Solomon King Kanform scored one each in the 31st and 45th minutes respectively.

Jobe scored the first goal with a placing shot from the left flank of the box while Solomon King passed the ball to him, off a back pass from another Gambian forward Sulayman Sillah.

After 14 minutes, King doubled the margin with a powerful shot from outside the box, off a quick short pass from Sillah.

Dhaka Abahani fought back strongly in the second half and Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba and Haitian forwards Kervens Belfort scored a goal each to give their side a point from the match. 

Sunday struck first with a right-footer, off a long cross from Jewel Rana in the 52nd minute before Belfort saved Abahani with a header, off a cross from Sunday in the 88th minute.

Sheikh Jamal remained second in the points table with 39 points while Dhaka Abahani got 37 points to date.

The first leg match between the two sides also ended in a 2-2 draw at the same venue in February.
