Thirteen patients died while being treated at the Covid units of three Khulna hospitals in the last 24 hours till 8am on Wednesday.

Of the deceased, two patients died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), eight at Gazi Medical College Hospital and three others at the Covid unit of Khulna General Hospital.

Dr Suhas Ranjan Halder, resident medical officer of KMCH, Gazi Mizanur Rahman, owner of Gazi Medical College Hospital, confirmed the matter.

Khulna Medical College Principal Dr Mehedi Newaz said, 567 people were tested for coronavirus infection and 265 of them were found positive last night .

The current positivity rate stood at 49.58 percent, said Dr Mehedi Newaz.
