Octogenarian man killed in Brahmanbaria

An octogenarian man was killed and ten others injured over previous enmity at Kandapara in Gouragram under Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Milon Sardar, hailing from the area.

Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge of Nabinagar Police Station, said there was an enmity between two groups—one led by Sarkar Goshthi and another led by Ajaira Goshthi for long, reports UNB.

As a sequel to the enmity, the supporters of Ajaira Goshthi swooped on the supporters of Sarkar Goshthi while they were returning home after attending a mahfil at night.

The attackers gouged out the eyes and slit the tongue of Milon, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy.

Additional police were deployed in the area to avert further trouble.
