Debidwar Upazila chairman dies of Covid-19

Alhajj  Joynal Abedin, chairman of Debidwar Upazila Parishad of Cumilla, died from coronavirus infections at a hospital in the capital on Thursday morning. He was 85.

Joynal Abedin, who was also the Upazila Awami League President, breathed his last at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Anwar Khan Madical College and Hospital around 6:30 am while undergoing treatment.

Debidwar Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Haji Abul Kashem Omani confirmed the news.

He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of well wishers to mourn his death.

According to the family sources of the deceased, he was admitted to the hospital on November 12 after contracting coronavirus and later was transferred to the ICU on Wednesday after his condition deteriorated further.
