Milan, Murshid to get IFIC Bank Sahitya Puroshkar; Ramendu Sanskriti-Ratna Sommanona

Eminent literateur Imdadul Haq Milan and noted writer Golam Murshid have been nominated for the prestigious ‘IFIC Bank Sahitya Puroshkar 2018’ (IFIC Bank Literary Award 2018).    

Besides, prominent cultural personality Ramendu Majumdar will receive Sanskriti-Ratna Sommanona-2020 for his lifelong contribution to the cultural arena.

Imdadul Huq Milan, also the editor of the Daily Kaler Kantho, will receive the award for his novel ‘Mayanagar’ while Golam Murshid for ‘Bidrohi Ranoklanta’, a biography of Poet Nazrul Islam.

The nominated writers will receive Tk 5 lakh, certificates and crests for Sahitya Puroshkar this year.

With a view to encouraging creative writings (literature), the IFIC Bank has been providing Sahitya Puroshkar since 2011. The award has already been well-accepted to all. This Sahitya Puroshkar is a big literary award in the country in terms of its economic value.

Besides the literary award, the authorities of the IFIC Bank have been providing Sanskriti-Ratna Sommanona since 2018. The financial value of the award is Tk 10 lakh.

Prof Hasan Azizul Huq got the award in 2018 while Prof Prof Anisuzzaman received the award in 2019.
