Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of S Alam Group director Morshedul Alam.
In a condolence message, Hasan Mahmud, also a joint general secretary of Awami League, said he (Morshedul Alam) played a pivotal role as a leading businessman of the country with utmost sincerity.The minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Chattogram-based giant industrial conglomerate S Alam Group director Morshedul Alam (65) died of COVID-19 at Chattogram General Hospital last night.
Alam, brother of S Alam Group Chairman and Managing Director Saiful Alam Masud, died at the hospital around 10pm on Friday while he was receiving treatment there after getting infected with the novel coronavirus.
Morshedul Alam was also one of the directors of NRB Global Bank, managing director of S Alam Super Edible Oil Limited and Chairman of Chemon Steel Limited, according to a ministry release in Dhaka on Saturday.
