Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir on Wednesday visited the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) to oversee the construction work of the country’s largest corona dedicated makeshift hospital.
He talked to the engineers of the Health Engineering Department (HED) of the government and inquired about the progress of the construction work. He also promised to provide all kinds of support needed to complete the construction work within the stipulated time.
In a briefing to journalists, HED executive engineer Md Masudul Alam said, “We are making six clusters serially to set up patient’s bed.”
ICCB Chief Executive MM Jasim Uddin said the work for setting up beds and floor mat has almost completed. Setting up of beds at Hall 2 has already finished. The hospital may go into operation within few days, he added.
It should be mentioned that a hospital for corona patients at the ICCB in the capital is being equipped with all facilities, including ventilation and ICU.
Bashundhara Group is not only constructing the country’s largest hospital for treatment of Covid-19 but also enriching it (the hospital) with all facilities needed for critical patients.
The convention centre will be used as a hospital for the time being and it will return to its previous shape facilitating trade fairs and other public and private events after the corona crisis is over.
