Two physicians of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) are in home quarantine.
Principal Prof Abul Kalam Azad of the DMCH confirmed it.Prof Abul Kalam informed journalist that head of the cardiology department Prof Abdul Wadud and chest diseases department Prof Mohiuddin are in home quarantine.
It is learnt that Abdul Wadud served an elderly patient at the private chamber of the Bangladesh Specialised Hospital on March 16. The patient had been suffering from pneumonia. Two days later, the patient felt feverish. Finally, he was detected as a patient of COVID-19 and put on the support of a ventilator. Following the incident, Prof Wadud has gone into home quarantine.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus as the epidemic. A total of 44 coronavirus patients have been detected in Bangladesh so far. Of them, five died and seven made recovery.
