Cover of 'Amar Dekha Naya Chin’ by Bangabandhu unveiled

'Amar Dekha Naya Chin’ (The New China as I Saw), the third book authored by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was unveiled in the inaugural ceremony of Amar Ekushey Book Fair, 2020 on Sunday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the daughter of the Father of the Nation, unveiled the cover of the 3rd autobiography of the greatest Bangalee of all the times.

Bangla Academy has published the book and the book is now available in Bangla Academy book stalls.

An English version of the book was also published, that has been translated by Professor of Dhaka University English Department Fakhrul Alam.

The month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair begins on Bangla Academy premises and at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital today.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the book fair as the chief guest at around 3:00 pm where State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid was present as special guest while National Professor Dr Anisuzzamanin presided over the event.

Bangla Academy Director General Habibullah Siraji delivered the welcome speech at the inaugural ceremony.

This year Bangla Academy has set the theme of the fair as “Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu” and the book fair will be dedicated to the iconic leader, marking his birth centenary.

Focusing on Bangabandhu, architect Enamul Karim Nirjhar has prepared the overall plan of the book fair.

‘Oshomapto Attojiboni’ (The Unfinished Memoirs) and “Karagarer Rojnamcha” (Diary in Jail) -- two autobiographies of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu-- were published in 2012 and 2017 respectively.
