Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday will announce the names of newly MPO-listed educational institutions.
After around nine years, two thousand six hundred and twenty seven (2,627) educational institutes will be going to get Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facility.The premier will announce the list of institutions that have been newly brought under the MPO system from her official residence Ganabhaban at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, said education minister Dr Dipu Moni.
The minister told this to journalists on Tuesday afternoon while she exchanging views with media representatives over the ongoing MPO listing process at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
According to the Education Ministry source, out of 2,627 institutions, one thousand and 548 institutions are from Secondary and Higher Secondary level (School and College) while one thousand and seventy nine institutions from the Technical and Madrasa level.
From Madrasa, 359 Dakhil level Madrasa, 127 Alim level, Fazil level 42, and Kamil level 29 madrasa, a total of 557 institutions get final MPO approval.
From Technical category, 62 institutions under Agricultural curriculum, 48 institutions form Vocational segment and 129 institutions from Vocational affiliated level.
Earlier, the teachers and employees of non-MPO educational institutions called off their hunger strike on Tuesday night following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's assurance.On Tuesday afternoon, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni in a press conference told reporters that all eligible educational institution will be brought under the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facility as per their performance. The eligible institutions will get MPO benefits each year.
