Bashundhara Kings continued their dream run in Bangladesh Premier League 2018-2019 season as they thrashed Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 3-0 goals in their home encounter at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari on Thursday.

In a show total dominance, Bashundhara Kings completely obliterated their counterparts from Chittagong with sensational goals from their prized foreign recruits Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov, Daniel Colindres and Marcos Vinicius.

The full-house crowd of Nilphamari evoked memories of the golden days of football in the nation as they came out in large numbers to support their home side Bashundhara Kings. The home support advanced Bashundhara’s cause as the boisterous crowd cheered on for Bashundhara.

Oscar Bruzon’s disciples broke the deadlock on the extra time of the first-half as their Uzbek forward Bakhtiyar broke through in the D-box angling in from the left wing as he utilised a timely back-pass from fellow forward Daniel Colindres. Bakhtiyar slammed the ball in to the top-right corner of the Chittagong Abahani bar leaving the goalie dumbfounded.

Bashundhara had to wait until the 78th minute of the match to double their lead as this time round their World Cupper Daniel Colindres netted a crawler which he made the goal look like a cakewalk. Bashundhara’s Brazilian magician Marcos Vinicius scripted the attack with him leading from the centre.

With the Brazilian sending a through pass for Daniel which was intercepted by a Chittagong Abahani defender, Daniel finally got hold of the ball due to a failed attempt to clear the ball by the defender. Colindres wasted no time to send the crawler in the bottom left corner of Chittagong Abahani nets.

Finally, the magician managed to score a goal of his own on the 85th minute of the match advancing their lead to 3-0 goals as he flaunted his brilliant control sprinting into the nets and smashing a long pass from Kings’ midfielder Emon Babu into the nets above Chittagong Abahani goalie’s open arms.

In the other match of the day, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club were held by NoFeL Sporting Club in a goalless encounter at Shaheed Bulu Stadium in Noakhali.

Joseph Afusi’s boys started the match with aggressive game-plan which translated in small and quick passes and constant attack buildups. This strategy put NoFeL Sporting’s defences into pressure early on in the match.

In the 13th minute of the match, David Tetteh nearly gave Sheikh Jamal the all-important lead but his off-target shot missed the post by a huge margin. Moments later, The striker missed another golden opportunity to score as he headed a cross from fellow forward Solomon King straight at NoFeL goalie.

Sheikh Jamal foreign recruit Tetteh’s bad day turned into a worse one as he blasted a pass from Sainey Bojang into the oblivion despite the post being unguarded.
