In Nepal, the day’s programme began with the hoisting of the national flag at half-mast and organising a “probhatpheri” and placing floral wreaths at the Shaheed Minar.

A ‘doa mahfil’ was also held at the chancery where all prayed for the eternal peace of language martyrs, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, members of his family and others who had sacrificed their lives for language and the country, says a press release.

In Mumbai, the Deputy High Commission organised special programmes at its CSMVS Auditorium where Principal Secretary of Government of Maharashtra Rajagopal Devara was present as the chief guest.
