Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Sunday affirmed Bangladesh's continuous efforts to deepen ties with African countries including Uganda.
He also talked about the opportunities of bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Uganda when outgoing Ugandan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Elizabeth Paula Napeyok met him at his office, reports UNB.
Ugandan High Commissioner lauded the progress made by Bangladesh in the ICT sector while she was recalling her participation in the 'Digital World 2016' held in Dhaka last year.
Minister Ali proposed that both Bangladesh and Uganda could collaborate to deepen cooperation in the ICT sector and hoped that a Ugandan delegation led by the ICT Minister could visit Bangladesh in this regard, said the Foreign Ministry.
Besides these, Foreign Minister Ali and the Ugandan High Commissioner also discussed other possible cooperation in the areas of defence training, agricultural research, garments and textile, ship building, pharmaceutical, bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
