Both the bourses of the country --the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- saw downward trend in early hours of trading Thursday, the last trading day of the week.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), lost 11.12 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse also shed over 33.42 points arons first one and half an hour of the day’s trading.
After first 1.40 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index DSE went down by 11.12points or. 23 per cent to stand at 4691.39, when the report was filed at 12:10pm.
On the other hand, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, shed 3.60 points or 0.20 per cent to stand at 1749.93 points.
Moreover, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 1.70 points or 0.15 per cent to stand at 1112.79 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1986.89 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 86 advanced, 169 declined and 59 issues remained unchanged.
FORTUNE dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 378.63 million changing hands.
However, the port city bourse- the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)- also saw downward trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX–shedding 33.42 points to stand at 8758.05 points, also at 12:35pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 67 gained, 103 declined and 31 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 107 million.
