Revenue collection by Chittagong Customs House (CCH) witnessed a rise in July-August period of the fiscal year 2016-17 (FY17) as the CCH collected Tk 5,324 crore, up by Tk 14 crore from its target of Tk 5,310 crore.
The customs house collected Tk 4,314 crore during the same period of the fiscal year 2015-16. It has collected additional Tk 1020 crore and growth rate is 24 percent, according to a press release.
It collected extra Tk 47.56 crore with 910 duty dodging incidents that had taken place in July-August period of fiscal year 2015-16. A total of Tk 21.43 crore revenue was collected in connection with 270 duty dodging incidents in July-August period of fiscal year 2014-15, said the press release.
