An 18-day long national drama festival titled ‘Jatiyal Natya Utsab 2016’ will begin on September 24 in the capital with the slogan ‘this soil not for militancy, but for humanity’.
Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation and Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy will organise the festival in collaboration with the Cultural Affairs Ministry.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be present at the inaugural ceremony of the festival as the chief guest.
Group Theatre Federation Secretary Aktaruzzaman on Monday said a total of 58 troupes, including 26 ones from Dhaka, will stage one drama each at different auditoriums of the city during the festival.
The dramas will be staged in the main auditorium of Jatiya Natyashala, Experimental Theatre Hall, Studio Theatre Hall of BSA and Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium at Bailey Road at 7 pm every day.
