Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man from the Malancha area of Shakta union in Keraniganj.

Keraniganj Model Police Station’s Sub-Inspector Rony Chowdhury said that the body, dismembered and packed into three cartoons was found dumped on the side of a road. Locals informed police noticing stray dogs fighting over the cartoons.

Police couldn’t immediately identify the body as it was dismembered, said Muhammad Sohrab Al Hossain, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Model Police Station.

However, the person appears to be of mid-age, he added.

He said the body has been sent to the Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy.
