World Music Day celebrated

World Music Day was celebrated at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) with a series of musical performances on Friday.
The event was open with the performance of 11 instrumentalists at the National Theatre Hall Auditorium of the academy on the evening.    

Then, the artistes of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, including Rupsa, Meem, Himadri, Hirak, Barnali, Sushmita, Suchitra and Shaon took the floor and performed music.  
The main attraction of the programme was ‘patriotic and modern song segment’. Popular singers of this generation like Anupama Mukti, Pantho Kanai, Sabbir, Rajeeb, Rashed, Elita, Yousuf, Haimanti Rakshit Das, Apu Aman, Pulak Adhikary, Kishore, Jhilik, Swaralipi, Abanti Sithi,  Animesh, Priyanka, Kornia, and many more performed in the segment.   

They together rendered the songs “Dhana Dhanya Pushpe Bhora Amaderi Basundhara” and “Abar Elo Je Shondha”.  
 The Fête de la Musique, also known in English as Music Day, Make Music Day or World Music Day, is an annual music celebration. Introduced in 1982, the Fête de la Musique is observed on 21 June, which is the day of the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere.
