The Bangladeshi giants Bashundhara Kings will be looking to clinch their maiden ‘domestic treble’ when they face Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd in the final of the ABG Bashundhara Federation Cup 2023-24 at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh today.

The match is scheduled to start at 03:00pm (BST) and will be telecast live on T Sports.

Kings look to clinch maiden ‘domestic treble’ todayKings earlier won the season’s curtain raiser Independence Cup 2023-24 title when they beat Mohammedan SC by 2-1 goals in the final in December while they have recently won the Bangladesh Premier League title for a record fifth successive time topping the same opponents.

Kings earlier came close to winning the domestic treble thrice respectively in the 2018-19, 2020-21 and 2022-23 seasons but they had to only content with winning two out of three domestic trophies in those seasons.

If Kings can finally achieve the historical feat today, they will become the third team in the history of Bangladesh football after Mohammedan SC and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd to win the domestic treble.
Mohammedan were the first club to complete a domestic treble in 2002 while Sheikh Russel became the second club in 2012.

“Tomorrow’s game is another opportunity to prove ourselves after a long season of hard work, dedication, and tailored training we have put in to get to this point,” Kings head coach Oscar Bruzon told reporters on Tuesday.

“We truly believe in ourselves and we will leave everything we have out in that final game… We have asked our players to play with heart, focus, and determination and achieve all the club goals when they decide we are the main actors to go for it,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Mohammedan SC will be looking to ruin Kings’ great opportunity of achieving a historical feat by avenging them in the final of the season’s last tournament.
Mohammedan, who are the current Fed Cup champions, have performed outstandingly well throughout the season only to lose the Independence Cup final to Kings and they also finished second after the same opponents in the BPL where they only lost one game out of 16 matches.
