New book on Bangladesh’s confrontational politics published

A new book entitled 'Understanding Fifty Years of Bangladesh Politics: Struggles, Achievements, and Challenges', authored by Dr Harun-or-Rashid, a former professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Dhaka, was recently published simultaneously in London and New York.
In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the book consists of five chapters, namely 'The Formative Phase: Mujib Era, 1972–1975’; ‘Judicial Activism and Constitutional Development in a Young Democracy’; ‘Sheikh Hasina: Journey to Power: Achievements and Challenges Ahead’; ‘The Crisis of Electoral Integrity’, and ‘The State of Civil Society’, according to a press release.
The book by the former vice-chancellor of National University Bangladesh (currently the Bangabandhu Chair) depicts Bangladesh's confrontational politics, political division along the Awami League, and the BNP-Jamaat clique that permeates the entire fabric of society.
Leading international publisher The Routledge (Taylor & Francis Group) has published the book in both hardback and paperback versions.
