Bashundhara fulfils dreams of the poor: Sujanagar UZ Chairman

Pabna’s Sujanagar Upazila Chairman Shahinuzzaman Shahin said Bashundhara Group has been supporting underprivileged people across the country to materialise their dreams.

 “Great people are remembered for their contributions to the society. Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan works for the welfare of the country and people. He is a shining example of humanity. Under his guidance, the industrial conglomerate is standing by the helpless poor across the country,” he said.

Bashundhara Group is trying to make people self-reliant through various initiatives being implemented by its social organisation Bashundhara Shuvosangho. Noted writer Imdadul Haq Milan, also Editor-in-Chief of the daily Kaler Kantho, is supervising the social welfare activities of the organisation.

Shahin further hailed the Bashundhara Group for creating employment of many people.

“Bashundhara Group has a great contribution to the country's economy. Other corporate and business houses should follow the example,” he said.

About sewing training, he said Bashundhara Shuvosangho Training Center is doing a great job by  pushing distressed women towards self-reliance.

“Women are being able to earn livelihood after receiving sewing training. Besides, the sewing machines given to them are of great help,” he said.

Sujanagar UZ Chairman recalled Bashundhara Group’s month-long food supports to 50 thousand people of northern region of the country during Covid-19 pandemic.

He also appreciated the largest industrial conglomerate’s efforts in spreading light of literacy among underprivileged children and backward section of people in remote areas.

“It will not be a difficult task to remove poverty from the country if reputed business conglomerate like Bashundhara Group continues to stand by the poor,” he opined.
