United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will promote sustainable practices among the apparel entrepreneurs to develop the ready-made garment industry in the country.
UNDP Resident Representative Stefan Liller made the pledge during a call on with President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Faruque Hassan at the latter’s office in the capital on Thursday.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan expressed hope that UNDP would continue support the industry in achieving its sustainability goals while maintaining its competitive edge.
Assistant resident representative Sarder M Asaduzzaman and private sector partnership specialist Debashis Roy were present on the occasion.
