Vandalism at CU After Shuttle Accident

2 cases filed; train service resumes

The Chittagong University (CU) authorities filed two cases accusing seven identified and 400 to 500 unidentified ones in connection with the vandalism on the campus following injury of 20 persons in an accident on rooftop of a shuttle train.

CU Acting Registrar KM Nur Ahmad and Chief Security Officer Sheikh Md Abdur Razzak filed the cases with the Hathazari police station on Saturday late night, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Media) Abu Tayab Md Arif Hossain.

On the other hand, the movement of shuttle train to and from the university campus and the city resumed from Sunday afternoon after a two and a half-day halt.

The decision to resume the train movement came after a meeting between the university Proctorial body and the representatives of various employees associations of the railway.
