Experts at a press conference on Monday said building awareness is a must for preventing liver disease and stopping death from the deadly disease in the country.
“Around 22,000 people die of liver disease in Bangladesh every year. People will have to be made aware of liver disease to prevent severity of the disease,” said Prof Dr Mamun Al Mahtab Shwapnil, chairman of Interventional Hepatology Division of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
He made the statement while speaking at a press conference arranged by Carnival care at its office in the city’s Gulshan area.
Mentioning that around 4.5 crore people are suffering from liver diseases in the country, sais Dr Mamun.
