The third and last round matches of the 10th edition of Bangladesh Cricket League, a four-day domestic tournament, will get underway at two venues in the country today.
The tournament is all set to resume after a nearly two-month break due to the Bangladesh Premier League, held in January-February.
Central Zone have already confirmed their final berth after securing 18 points from two matches while South Zone and East Zone have earned 10 and two points respectively. North Zone are yet to open their account in the tournament.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Yasir Ali, who were earlier reported in contention to be part of the Bangladesh ODI squad for the England series, were named in the North Zone and East Zone squads respectively for the third-round matches.
“Chances are very slim to add the 15th member in the squad (for first two ODIs of England series) as we want them to play in the BCL,” said selector Habibul Bashar.
The final of the meet will be held in Cox’s Bazar on March 4-7.
