Dr Hasan teaching classes at DU amid busy life

Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud is taking classes at Dhaka University (DU) amid his busy schedule of discharging political and state duties along with working for his own constituency, reports BSS.

Hasan, who did his PhD. in Environmental Chemistry, at Limburg University, Belgium and was awarded the Certificate of Honorable Mention by Green Cross International, an Environmentalist organization, in 2005 for his strong role in global climate change, is taking classes on global climate at the honours level at the Department of Oceanography of DU as a part-time teacher.

During the Corona virus pandemic, he took classes online. After the end of the pandemic, he returned to the classroom and he is continuing to take classes amid his ever-increasing busy life, said a press release on Friday.

Hasan, who is also popular among students for his curiosity-provoking teaching style, likes to take classes physically instead of the online platform.

Earlier, the minister also served as a teacher at Jahangirnagar University, North South University and East West University.

Being invited, he also gave special lectures at Cornell University, New York, USA, Harvard University, Boston, USA, Melbourne University, Australia, City University of London, UK (Contentions Politics & Democracy in the Digital Arena- January 2017) and National Defense College (NDC), Dhaka and different other institutions at home and abroad.
