BNP’s fresh march in Dhaka starts today

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to start its fresh march in the capital today to press home their 10-point demand, including resignation of the current Awami League government.

The party will also held the same march programme in the capital on February 12.

As per the announcement, BNP’s Dhaka south city unit would march towards the Jatiya Press Club from Gopibagh Brothers Union Club ground at about 2:00pm.

BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Mirza Abbas will attend the programme.

Dhaka south city unit convener Abdus Salam will chair the programme while the unit’s member secretary Rafiqul Alam Majnu is scheduled to conduct the march.

Meanwhile, Dhaka north city unit will hold march programme towards Bosila Saat Rasta intersection from Shyamoli playground at about 2:00pm on February 12.

On Tuesday, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the two-day march in Dhaka on February 9 and 12.

The party will also hold march at union level across the country for February 11 to press home their  10-point demands, including holding the next general election under an election time caretaker government.

Earlier, the party’s two units observed the march programme on January 28, 31, 30 and February 1 respectively to realise the same demands.
