Hasna Banu Mosammat Aziza Khanom, mother of journalist Kamran Reza Chowdhury, passed away at a city hospital on Thursday. She was 76.
She was undergoing treatment at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Birdem General Hospital with kidney complications and diabetes since January 25.
Aziza Khanom left behind three sons, three daughters and numerous relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
Her son Kamran Reza Chowdhury is former general secretary of Bangladesh Parliamentary Journalists Association (BPJA) and Bangladesh correspondent of US-based news media Bannernews.
BPJA President Harun Al Rashid and General Secretary Nafiza Daula expressed profound shock and sorrow over the death of Hasna Banu Mosammat Aziza Khanom.
Aziza Khanom will be buried today at her family graveyard following her namaz-e-janaza at Chakmuktar Dakkhin Pashchim Para under Naogaon Sadar upazila after Jumma prayer.
