Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Saturday said smart agriculture, industrial and education sectors are important for building a smart Bangladesh.
He urged social and cultural organisations to come forward to encourage the new generation to acquire digital skills.
Jabbar said Mymensingh is mostly agricultural area.
“The region can be made smart by revolutionising agriculture and
fisheries through the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology”, he added.
Presided over by former secretary Dr Khandakar Shawkat Hossain, the programme was attended by, among others, State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haq Khan, Prime Minister’s personal Physician Prof Dr ABM Abdullah, former vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University Dr Kamrul Hasan and Foreign Ministry Secretary (Maritime) Rear Admiral Md Khurshed Alam took part at the programme.
