BCB Central Zone found them in a strong position after the end of second day’s play against Islami Bank East Zone in the 10th edition of the Bangladesh Cricket League longer version tournament’s first round match in Rajshahi on Tuesday.
After making a massive total of 453 runs in the first innings, Central Zone reduced East Zone to 125-6 at stumps of day two at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium.
East Zone pacer Anamul Haque took 5-106 while another pacer Ripon Mondol claimed 4-67.
Pacer Hasan Murad then claimed three wickets for Central Zone and despite Mohammad Naim’s making 56 runs, East Zone remained on the verge of the follow-on as they still trailed by 328 runs.
Meanwhile, BCB South Zone took a 201-run lead over BCB North Zone at stumps of day two at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura.
BCB South Zone, which declared their first innings at 222-9, made 90-2 in their second innings after they bowled North Zone all out for 111 runs in their first innings on Tuesday.
South Zone’s Nazmul Islam Apu and Hasan Mahmud took four wickets each in North Zone innings.
