A three-day photo exhibition titled ‘The struggle for dignified livelihood’ concluded on Friday with a consultation on gender-based violence in the workplace, said a press release.

The event was jointly organised by Nagorik Uddyog, a European Union co-funded project implemented, Wave Foundation, BLAST, Bandhu Social Welfare Society and Christian Aid. 

Besides, a discussion on 16 days of activism against gender based violence was held.

Asaduzzaman Noor, Member of Parliament and prominent cultural figure, was present as the chief guest while Tania Akhter Rohini, a member from the Hijra community, spoke.

Md Kamruzzaman, director general of Bangladesh National Museum, Susmita Paik, deputy director of  National Human Rights Commission, Mohsin Ali, executive director of WAVE Foundation, Dr Meghna Guhathakurta, executive director of Research Initiative of Bangladesh, Prashanta Tripura, project director at HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Bangladesh, Md Masum Rana, company secretary of Queens South Textile Mills, Md Ahmed Ali, deputy general manager and head of Sales of City Group, Md Ahkam Ullah, general secretary of Shommilito Shangskritik Jote were present as special guests.

People from all walks of life attended the exhibition and learned the findings of the researches on the lives and livelihoods of Dalit, plainland ethnic minority and transgender.
