‘A Father’s Diary’ at Asian Film Fest Barcelona

Award-winning Bangladeshi-Canadian director Golam Mustofa’s film ‘A Father’s Diary’ will be screened at the Asian Film Festival Barcelona. The 10th edition of the festival will take place at Cinemas Girona, Phenomena, CaixaForum and Zumzeig in Spain from October 26 to November 6.  

‘A Father’s Diary’ will compete under the Official Panorama Section.

The film ‘A Father’s Diary’ drew the attention of international critics and audiences when it had its world premiere at the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival and UK premiere at the 5th London Bengali Film Festival. The film is based on the story of a South Asian father who finds difficulties when dealing with the choices of his daughter and wife.

The film has won several awards in its preliminary run with festivals in Canada, USA, Singapore, and India, including the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival (2021) and Accolade Global Film Competition (2021) and received an honorable mention at the Mumbai International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for Best Feature Film by the 2022 Wales International Film Festival and Canadian International Faith and Family Film Festival.

‘A Father’s Diary’ is a production of Canadian-based Banzai Multimedia and is shot in three continents and capturing locations in Canada, the USA, Australia, and Bangladesh.

The principal cast of the film includes veteran actors Afroz Khan (Bollywood), Carmine Lacono (Canada), Nidhi Dhara (Bollywood), Brittany Clough (Canada), and Deepa Khandakar (Bangladesh).
