Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club by 1-0 goal in their 9th match of the ongoing BFF U-18 Football League 2021-22 at the Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ground on Thursday.

After the barren first half, Sabel scored the match-winner in the 50th minute for Sheikh Russel.

Sheikh Russel will play their last match against Rahamatganj Muslim Friends Society on October 24 at the same venue.

In the day’s other match, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra beat 10-man Mohammedan Sporting Club by 1-0 goal at the Govt. Physical Education College Ground in the capital.

Naymul scored the lone goal for Muktijoddha in the 26th minute of the game.

Mohammedan were reduced to 10-man as one of their players Ratul got marching order after conceding a red card (two yellow cards).

Meanwhile, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club earlier clinched the maiden title of the tournament after playing a 1-1 draw with Bashundhara Kings on Wednesday. The teams are now playing to confirm their position in the points table.

After the day’s victory, Sheikh Russel earned 15 points from four wins, three draws, two defeats and Muktijoddha earned 18 points from six wins, three defeats while Police and Mohammedan remained the same with their previous credit of 9 and 14 points.
