The BPL champions Bashundhara Kings are going to rope in former Uzbek midfielder of Saif Sporting Club Asror Gafurov in the Asian quota.

Though the Kings made no official statement, a higher official of the club informed The Daily Sun that they are at the final phase of the signing as the Uzbek midfielder agreed to join Bashundhara Kings’ den.

“His (Gafurov) performance was eye-catching in the last Bangladesh Premier League. We talked with him and he showed his earnest interest to join us. Now, the signing is at the final phase,” the Kings official said.

Gafurov is likely to come in the place of Iranian defender Khaled Shafiei who recently ended his contract with Kings.

However, the club official also informed that they are going to sign Dhaka Abahani’s three key players Brazilian forward Dorielton Gomes Nascimento, forward Rakib Hossain and defender Tutul Hossain Badsha.

“We need scorers; both Dorielton and Rakib are the scorers; they can support Robson in the attacking line-up,” he added.
