Bangladesh left-arm pace bowler Shoriful Islam is confident that he can bowl in full intensity by next week.

Shoriful was ruled out from the Test series against Sri Lanka due to a wrist injury that he sustained during the fourth day of the opening Test in Chattogram. Later, it was revealed that he had fractured his right hand after pacer Kasun Rajitha’s short delivery hit him on the gloves.

The left-arm pacer also failed to make him available for the two-match Test series against West Indies, scheduled from June 16.

However, he was included for the white-ball series, scheduled after the end of the Test series. Shoriful started his bowling practice on Saturday ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies, scheduled to start on July 10 in Guyana.

“Today I started my bowling and bowled six overs at sixty to seventy percent intensity,” Shoriful told The Daily Sun.

“Hopefully by one week or so I will be able to bowl at full rhythm,” he said.
