The price of bottled soybean oil has been increased by Tk 7 per litre and loose soybean oil by Tk 5 per litre.
“Bottled soybean oil has increased to Tk 205 from Tk 198 per litre and loose soybean oil price rose to Tk 185 from Tk 180 per litre.
The Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association increased the price on Thursday, said the circular.
Meanwhile, price of super palm oil (loose) has been decreased to Tk 158 from Tk 172 per litre, according to the release.
Earlier, on May 5, the government fixed bottled soybean oil Tk 198, loose soybean oil Tk 180, five-litre bottle Tk 985 and super palm oil Tk 172.
The edible oil market has turned unstable again in the country due to supply crunch ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Consumers were not getting adequate amount of edible oil in the wake of rising scarcity at the retail market.
