The main opposition in Parliament Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has expressed his doubts as to whether there will be a fair national under an ‘authoritarian government’.
“The administration or constitutional institutions become helpless when there is an authoritarian government,” he said. The Jatiya Party chief came up with the statement while addressing a view exchange programme at the party’s Banani office in the capital on Saturday. A group of women entrepreneurs led by Nazmin Sultana Tuli, of volunteer organisation Alokito Manush Foundation joined the party at the event.
Jatiya Party does not want to participate in any farcical election, GM Quader, also deputy leader of the opposition in parliament said.
About the upcoming election commission’s dialogue with political parties, he said the party will take decision in this regard after discussing the issue in the party forum.
