Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Sunday said a three-day special anti-mosquito drive will start in its seven wards tomorrow as the Directorate General of Health Services has identified the areas as Aedes-prone ones.
“In the beginning of monsoon, the population of Aedes mosquito goes up and causes the infection of dengue in the city. Meanwhile, DGHS conducted a pre-monsoon survey on mosquito population and indentified seven wards as Aedes-prone ones. We will intensity our drive and as part of it we will conduct special drive from May 10-12,” he said while addressing a meeting at DSCC Nagar Bhaban.
He also said DSCC workers will conduct campaign to raise awareness among people to ensure their participation with them in the fight against dengue.
