BAT Bangladesh approves 275pc cash dividend

British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited (BAT Bangladesh) has approved 275 percent cash dividend for its shareholders for the year 2021.

The approval came at the 49th annul general meeting of the company held through a digital platform in the capital recently, said a press release.

The AGM also approved financial statement of 2021, election of the Board of Directors, appointment of statutory auditors, and appointment of corporate governance auditors.

The chairman of BAT Bangladesh Golam Mainuddin, presided over the meeting where a significant number of shareholders from remote areas of the country participated through virtual platform.

In 2021, BAT Bangladesh has rendered Tk 29,078 crore as Value Added Tax (VAT), Supplementary Duty (SD) and other taxes to the national exchequer, making BAT Bangladesh the highest taxpayer in the country.

Along with KM Ali Azam, Non-Executive Director, M Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Non-Executive Director, Zakia Sultana, Non-Executive Director, KH Masud Siddiqui, Independent Director, Aftab Ul Islam, Independent Director, Mahmuda Khatun, Non-Executive Director, Abul Hossain, Non-Executive Director, Shehzad Munim, Managing Director, Amun Mustafiz, Finance Director, and Md Azizur Rahman, Company Secretary, were also present.
