Miscreants fell 52 mango trees in Magura

MAGURA: Miscreants have chopped 52 mango trees at the premises of Baliadanga Hafezia and Orphanage Madrasha at Baliadanga village in Sadar upazila of the district.

Firoz Ahmed, Madrasha super, said he noticed the trees, some of them in flowers, felled to the ground as he, along with Madrasha students, came out of a mosque after saying fazr prayer.

The miscreants felled the trees sometime after midnight under the cover of darkness when staff and students of the madrasha were asleep, he said. He demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the tree felling.

Manjurul Alam, OC of Sadar police station, said “We have got a written complaint about tree felling and legal steps will be taken after investigation.”
