Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Sunday said the government wants to keep educational institutions open as long as possible amid the pandemic.

She came up with the statement while talking to journalists after attending 9th convocation of Daffodil International University (DIU) in Savar.

The education minister also said if coronavirus increases again, the government will decide to close the educational institutions in the country considering the health security for all.

“Government will hold a meeting in this regard. If absolutely needed, educational institutions will be closed”, she said.  She also urged everyone to follow the health guidelines.

On the day, degrees were awarded to 12,168 students who passed the bachelor’s and master’s examinations between Spring 2019 and Summer 2021 session. Among the students, 12 got gold medal for their outstanding performance.
