Hospital director put on two-day remand

Popular News

A Dhaka court on Saturday placed Golam Sarwar, the director of ‘Amar Bangladesh Hospital’ in Shyamoli, on a two-day remand in a case filed over the death of a six-month-old baby.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shuvra Chakraborty passed the order after Mohammadpur police produced him before the court with a five-day remand petition for interrogation.

Earlier on Friday, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained the director in Shyamoli after the infant and his twin were forced out of the hospital over an alleged altercation relating to payment of medical bills.

The child, Ahmed, died on his way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while Abdullah was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition on Thursday.

Ayesha Begum, the mother of the two, blamed the hospital authority for the death of one of her son.
