NILPHAMARI: A microbus driver was held with a huge quantity of Yaba pills from Boro Bazar area of the district town on Friday night.

The arrestee was identified as Imran Hossain, 35, son of Rafiqul Islam, hailed from Sylhet district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nilphamari Police Station Md Abdur Rouf said, "Acting on tip off, the Anti-terrorism Unit including Nilphamari Police intercepted the microbus and recovered huge quantity of Yaba pills inside a gas cylinder.”


Police arrested microbus driver Imram Hossain for carrying illegal drugs, he added.


Arrested Imran Hossain confessed to his crime in primary investigation. He brought the yaba pills from Sylhet to handover the consignment to other.


Police also seized the microbus (Dhaka-Metro-Gha-13-0933). A case file processing is going on in the police station in this connection", the OC added.
