Another man was killed as a ‘garbage truck of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)’ reportedly hit him at Wari in the capital on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Swapan Kumar Sarkar, 62. He was living at a house in Gendarai of the capital. His village home is at Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria district.
The vehicles hit the man, leaving him dead. Local people said the vehicle belonged to DSCC, Uzzal said.
Kabir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Wari Police Station, told the Daily Sun that the victim was a businessman and he had a shop at Farmgate.
However, the OC could not confirm whether the vehicle belonged to DSCC.
“We are trying to seize the vehicle and arrest its driver,” he said.
His body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
In another incident on November 24, a DSCC garbage truck killed a student of Notre Dame College at Gulistan while another garbage truck of DNCC ran over another at Panthapath on November 25.
