Int’l Badminton Challenge to start on Dec 1

Yonex Sunrise Bangladesh International Badminton Challenge will kick off on December 1 at Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the capital.

Bangladesh Badminton Federation will organise the USD 15,000 prize pool event to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

 A total of 250 shuttlers – 156 men and 96 women – from 8 nations will take part in the 5-day long meet.

 The participating nations are: India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Zambia and hosts Bangladesh. 

BBF will also organise the USD 5,000 prize pool Yonex Sunrise Bangladesh Junior International Series on December 7 at the same venue.

 A total of 115 junior shuttlers – 61 boys and 55 girls – from 5 nations will take part in the 4-day long meet. The five participating nations are: India, Maldives, Malaysia, Indonesia and hosts Bangladesh.

 The total budget of these two events has been fixed Tk 53 lakh, organisers disclosed the details in a press conference at BBF premises on Sunday.
