A Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Saturday informed that they aren’t interested in extending the contract with their fielding coach Ryan Cook while a local fielding coach would be in-charge of the Tigers during their upcoming home series against Pakistan.

“We won’t continue with Cook. We are going to appoint a new local coach in his place (for the Pakistan series). We will finalize it on November 16. His contract will expire soon and we’re not interested in extending his contract,” BCB Cricket Operation Chairman Akram Khan told reporters in Mirpur.

Cook, who was in-charge of the fielding department since July 2018, is the first member of the foreign coaching staff to be ousted by the BCB following their debacle during the recent ICC T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh had a very poor outing as a fielding unit as they dropped several catches during the tournament that made them pay immensely in the tournament.

Veteran local coach Mizanur Rahman is expected to fill Cook’s place in the series against Pakistan.
