The Embassy of Japan has donated Japanese books to the Department of Political Science of the University of Chittagong.

In this regard, a book donation ceremony titled “Read Japan Project” took place at the Department of Political Science of CU on Sunday.

The project was conducted by Nippon Foundation and the Japan Science Society (JSS).

The books are on politics and international relations, economics and business, society, culture, literature and history.  The project aims to provide various selections of English books to educational and research institutions worldwide.

Moreover, this scheme helps promote a better understanding of Japan and strengthen the interaction and educational exchanges between scholars from the region and beyond, said a press release of the Embassy of Japan.

At the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador ITO Naoki, CU Vice Chancellor Prof Shireen Akter, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Benu Kumar Dey and Chairman of the Department of Political Science Prof Mustafizur Rahman Siddiqui were present.
